NEVER BUY A FILTER BEFORE? NOT A PROBLEM!

Don't let your lack of experience in this area decrease your confidence on how you are going to handle it. Take a look at these easy steps on how to manage this process to get your filter and get your truck back on the road.

We care about your experience and want to deliver to you the support you deserve

STEP #1 - FIND THE OEM PART NUMBER

Search your damaged part for it's OEM part number. Remember, just because you cannot find it, doesn't mean it is not there. Every filter has a part number.

If you cannot locate your part number, haven't removed the filter yet, or have no access to the filter, then give us a call.

Once you have the part number, enter it here to search for your part!

PRO TIP: Crossing your part number is easy. But what do you do if you can't find it? Not to worry, you might have a superceded part number. That is when they retire your part number, or made a newer version that replaced the older version.

WHERE IS THE OEM PART NUMBER?

CUMMINS FILTERS

- Cummins does not have a uniform location for where the OEM part number is etched and varies often based on engine type.

- Cummins part numbers typically do not align with the bungs and can be found on the opposite side of the filter.

- Cummins OEM part numbers can be found to the left side of the casing seam.

- Cummins DOCs have their part number and serial numbers usually etched in seperate locations; the serial number is accompanied by the etching of the word catalyst.

If you're a visual learner, you've come to the right page!

OEM part numbers come in all shapes, sizes, and conditions.  Here are some examples to help you see what you can expect.

VOLVO/MACK FILTERS

- Volvo/Mack filters can be found with OEM part number laser etchings and plates that have been welded to the casing.

- If the filter has a plate that is missing, then there is typically no other means to obtain the part number short of calling the dealer.

ISUZU FILTERS

- Isuzu filters have multiple different styles of heat shielding that wraps their filters. Because of this shielding, Isuzu created small gaps in the shield where the part number is etched along with it's two tier serial numbers.

DETROIT FILTERS

- Detroit filters will have their part number laser etched on the side of the unit. Remember, detroit filter serial numbers are required for the technician to reset your aftertreatment tables and soot levels.

STEP #2 - DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PART NUMBER

If you are not clear on what the part number is, never guess, give us a call and lets talk about how we can narrow down your search. Don't stop your due diligence here!

You'd be surprised to find out just how many people are given incorrect information from reputable parts companies and dealers. Don't trust your success to blind faith, when in doubt, call us!

PRO TIP: Restocking Fees are applied to all return orders. So, If you want to ensure the correct fit and save yourself the time and money of returning your part, don't hesitate to call and ask!

STEP #3 - REMEMBER YOUR GASKETS & CLAMPS

Every filter installation requires new gaskets, and sometimes clamps. Your filter order will always be packaged with gaskets, however not always with clamps.

Call us to determine if your order will come packaged with any.

PRO TIP: Replacing gaskets is a no brainer and are replaced whenever the filters are separated from one another. But clamps aren't, and is often a decision made when your technician determines if the old ones can be reused. If new clamps were packaged with your filter, be sure the repair facility returns them to you if they are not needed.
